Where to run in Florianópolis: the direct answer
Beira-Mar Norte, Coqueiros and UFSC facilities help you begin a running map. The guide distinguishes the island, mainland Florianópolis and neighboring municipalities, without turning old hours or race courses into everyday usage rules.
This selection retains park, street, waterfront and track routes for comparison. Details that depend on a venue's operation are accompanied by the responsible source and access date. Where a condition could not be reconfirmed, the guidance is to ask directly, without filling the gap with directory information.
Routes and what to check for each one
Beira-Mar Norte
Reference: Island, central area. Route: Define the start and turnaround. Access: Check municipal conditions and interventions.
This waterfront reference helps you build an urban route. We do not assign a single length to the entire avenue or guarantee lighting throughout: check pedestrian continuity and crossings. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Avenida das Rendeiras
Reference: Lagoa da Conceição. Route: Section chosen by the runner. Access: Scout the route before the session.
Along the lagoon, observe the width available for pedestrians and bicycle traffic. To extend the route, check whether your intended connection remains in an area where circulation is permitted. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Costa da Lagoa
Reference: Lagoa da Conceição area. Route: Check the route and restrictions. Access: Plan access, return and trail conditions.
A trail does not work like a park loop: your exit, navigation and support need to be defined. Contact the responsible unit before choosing a distance or running along natural paths. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Avenida Búzios e Jurerê
Reference: North of the island. Route: Define the out-and-back section. Access: Urban road: check signs and crossings.
The reference is the neighborhood and its public paths, rather than a competition course. Do not count on road closures or race support on an ordinary day. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Ingleses e Rua das Gaivotas
Reference: North of the island. Route: Measure the section authorized for pedestrians. Access: Check traffic and local conditions.
A route published by a race organizer applies to that edition. To run in the neighborhood outside the event, plan sidewalks, crossings and your return, without assuming the race's temporary facilities are present. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Canasvieiras e Ponta das Canas
Reference: North of the island. Route: Choose each beach section separately. Access: Check tides, access points and circulation.
Promenades and sand have different conditions. This guide contains no universal recommendation for pace or distance on sand; check conditions on the day and permitted use. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Campeche e Avenida Pequeno Príncipe
Reference: South of the island. Route: Urban route to be defined. Access: Check sidewalk continuity and access points.
Do not confuse the avenue with a closed running circuit. Define the pedestrian path and turnaround before extending to the beach. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Joaquina
Reference: East of the island. Route: Section according to beach access and conditions. Access: Check tides, weather and local guidance.
Joaquina is in the east of the island; it is not an extension south of Campeche. Sand, dunes and access points have their own conditions, and this guide does not treat the terrain as a strength-training protocol. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Parque de Coqueiros
Reference: Mainland Florianópolis. Route: Check the available markings. Access: Check maintenance and access.
Confirm track and sports facility conditions with the Prefeitura. Coqueiros is in the municipality of Florianópolis, on the mainland; it is not an island route. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Centro de Desportos da UFSC track
Reference: Trindade. Route: Check authorized lanes and uses. Access: Community access organized through a public notice.
The 2026/1 semester notice required registration in extension classes. It is historical, rather than the current October schedule: contact CDS about the current semester, availability and times. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Parque da Luz
Reference: Island end of Ponte Hercílio Luz. Route: Internal paths to be confirmed. Access: Check construction work and municipal rules.
When planning the route, distinguish the park, square and bridge access. Check open areas and available support; proximity between places does not guarantee a continuous running connection. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Beira-Mar Continental
Reference: Mainland Florianópolis. Route: Public section to be defined. Access: Check circulation conditions.
Beira-Mar Continental is in Florianópolis. Beira-Mar de São José, in the Campinas and Kobrasol areas, is another waterfront in a neighboring municipality; do not use the names interchangeably. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Parque Ecológico do Córrego Grande
Reference: Córrego Grande. Route: Check permitted paths. Access: Check municipal rules and hours.
To use trails or internal paths, check each area's purpose and visitor restrictions. Do not assume that every path permits running training. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Jardim Botânico de Florianópolis
Reference: Itacorubi. Route: Check paths and usage rules. Access: Check operating hours and programming.
A visitor facility should not automatically be treated as a running track. Ask the administration which activities are permitted and which entrance to use. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Parque Natural Municipal do Morro da Cruz
Reference: Morro da Cruz massif. Route: Check authorized trails and access points. Access: Plan your visit with guidance from the manager.
Slopes and natural paths require scouting, guidance and a return plan. This guide makes no claim that the route suits every level of runner. To confirm hours, maintenance, water and restrooms, use the responsible provider's channel.
Route comparison table
Compare logistics and access. Published distances are not training targets; fields requiring inquiry avoid confusing an app measurement with an official circuit.

How to use the Strava heatmap
Global Heatmap brings together public activities from the past year, with monthly updates. It is free; Weekly, Night and Personal are subscription features. Line intensity indicates records on the platform, rather than the number of people currently present, lighting, maintenance or safety.
- Open the global map and select Run in the sport filter.
- Locate the neighborhood and compare continuous paths, access points and crossings.
- On the light basemap, darker shades indicate greater heat; on the dark basemap, lighter shades do.
- Check the route through the administrator's channel and scout the location. A gap in the trace does not explain its own cause.
How to choose a section, time and support
Start with access rather than pace: define where you enter and leave, which crossings exist and how to return if you need to stop early. A looped route lets you adjust the outing without needing to complete an entire circuit. On shared roads, respect signs and do not use the bicycle lane as a running track.
Confirm drinking water, working restrooms and any access restrictions. A facility listed on a park page is not guaranteed to be available that day. Avoid depending on a kiosk without checking its opening hours, and plan support according to weather, duration and individual needs.
Is it safe to run at night?
This guide does not assign safety scores to routes. Open gates, cameras, lighting and activity do not eliminate risk. Visit the route in daylight, check whether lights work and how to ask for help, consider company and follow public-authority alerts. Do not use crime records from another date as a complete picture of current conditions.
In parks, also check exit times and which gate remains open. Trails and isolated sections require specific planning; a route used during the day does not automatically become a recommendation for nighttime training.
Where to find company on Saturday
Contact the group organizer or coaching service before arranging to meet. Confirm the specific date, departure point, whether registration or payment is required, and which paces or activities are supported. An earlier edition does not establish the next outing, and a coaching service's session may require enrollment.
Channels to contact include NewPace. Use the schedule published by the service itself and confirm participation directly.

How Darwin helps organize ongoing support
Your route, goal and availability need to fit into the same week. Recording what was planned and what actually happened helps you discuss adjustments, without turning a route or a piece of equipment into a guarantee of results. To learn about the approach to ongoing support, express interest in the Darwin preview as an athlete. The form records your interest, and the team contacts you about access; no account or plan is created automatically.
Informational content prepared using the official sources cited and the access dates indicated. Prices, opening hours, addresses, availability, rules and product or service features may change without notice. Darwin does not control these changes or guarantee that the information will remain up to date. Before buying, signing up for a service, registering or traveling, confirm the details directly through the responsible provider's official channels.
